Cutting it to pieces

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything web related. I also tend to get a little too detailed in my descriptions so I’ll try to keep this one short.

I’m close to finalizing a website that’ll hopefully be live soon. Per request, the site was supposed to be colorful, classy, crafty, and be able to promote the vinyl based products it sells. Everything you see, was designed from the ground up; the logo, the artwork, the template - everything. Like any good website, it was first sketched up, then mocked up, then all the pieces were meticulously hand created in illustrator or whatever program was necessary. It was then sliced and diced in Photoshop and added to the existing back-end code in Visual Studio.

What you see here is fully functional. I did not do any backend work this time and that’s been awesome because I can focus on making the interface fun and easy. I tried to keep the site as table-less as possible which has already allowed it to incorporate some fun jQuery and Ajax.

The logo for the site is interesting in the way it’s literally designed. You can see the evolution of its design right in it. The four pieces of the logo are actually the four steps in fleshing out the logo in Illustrator.

Hopefully it’ll be live soon, and everyone can visit it for real.
